Human Intelligence skills are essential to both students and employers. This session will assist general education instructors with the infusion of these soft skills into their online courses, while also enhancing cognitive subject matter content.
Outcomes: Educators will learn to harness Bloom’s cognitive and affective skills in this presentation to infuse soft skills within their online classes. Participants will be briefed on how Bloom’s affective skills can translate to human intelligence skills. Examples will show how educators might identify, infuse, and assess activities promoting industry-desired soft skills in their online classes. Harnessing the affective domain in one’s course design will allow the educator to help students become more adept at applying course content to real-world situations and comprehend the importance of applying these soft skills in general education coursework.
