Learn how to capitalize on the creative talents of your students as they learn to research, analyze, and synthesize information and opinions using the art of telling stories with a mixture of digital media, text, pictures, audio, music and video.
Outcomes: Digital storytelling combines the art of telling stories with a mixture of digital media, including text, pictures, recorded audio narration, music and video. These multimedia elements are blended together, using computer software, to tell a story that usually revolves around a specific theme or topic and often contains a particular point of view. This session will guide the instructor on how digital storytelling differs from other types of videos and supports student learning as a tool in post-secondary education, and a guide for educators to integrate in their course. Dr. Candace Ruiz will share how she engages students in her online marketing course using digital storytelling and a quick WeVideo tutorial with YuJa.
